Ghana midfielder Elisha Owusu has revealed the targets Auxerre seek to achieve in the 2023/24 season ahead of the start of the Ligue 2 season.
Auxerre are chasing immediate promotion back to the French top flight after dropping to the second division following their 17th-place finish last season.
Auxerre will begin their 2023/24 season on Saturday, August 5, when they face Valenciennes away from home and Owusu has been speaking to the media ahead of the fixture.
“We will be a team that will not give up. The coach instils in us the values of self-sacrifice and fighting spirit,” he said.
“I feel good about the group. We worked well during the preparation and we can’t wait to start. There’s a good atmosphere, good cohesion between the old and the young. It’s great!”
The defensive midfielder is set to play in a competitive game for the first time this weekend after his season was cut short last campaign during the Coupe de France win over Champois Niortais in January.
