Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has praised new signing Fernando Wisdom Bassey for his impressive debut performance in the club’s 1-0 victory over Nsoatreman FC at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
The Nigerian midfielder came off the bench in the second half, playing 25 minutes and nearly scoring for the Porcupine Warriors. In his post-match interview, Dr. Ogum lauded Bassey’s contribution and expressed excitement about his future performances.
“It’s good for him, coming in for his first game. He even had the chance to score. The whole team was happy for him, and we hope he keeps the momentum when given more opportunities,” said Dr. Ogum.
Elvis Kyei-Baffour netted the only goal of the match in the 47th minute, while Nsoatreman’s Daniel Amoo was sent off in the 78th minute after receiving two yellow cards. Asante Kotoko will face Accra Lions next on Sunday, October 6, in Obuasi.
