Following their defeat to Germany, Folarin Balogun, a forward for the United States, expressed satisfaction with the team’s response as they convincingly defeated the Black Stars of Ghana in an international friendly held in Nashville.
The US had experienced a 3-1 loss to Germany just three days earlier, and they were determined to make amends, delivering a dominant first-half performance against Ghana.
Balogun contributed to the 4-0 victory by scoring the third goal of the match at GEODIS Park.
“We learned a lot of lessons against Germany for sure,” Balogun conveyed to TNT. “We had a lot of meetings, and we decided we wanted to have a reaction tonight. And I felt like we showed that.”
The AS Monaco attacker also played a part in Giovanni’s second goal, working in tandem with captain Christian Pulisic from an indirect free kick.
“From this camp, we just know that we have to improve to compete against the top, top teams,” commented the former Arsenal star after the game.
