Following a series of disappointing performances during the October international break, the Black Stars have turned their attention to the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches set to take place in November.
Ghana faced a difficult 2-0 loss to Mexico on Sunday and concluded the October international friendlies with a devastating 4-0 defeat at the hands of the USA on Wednesday morning.
Chris Hughton will be eager to ensure that the struggles experienced in October won’t reoccur when the World Cup qualifying campaign kicks off in November.
The Black Stars will commence their journey towards the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a home game against Madagascar on Wednesday, November 15, followed by an away match against Comoros three days later.
In the Wednesday game, the USA took the lead in the 10th minute through Giovanni Reyna, who capitalized on a poor clearance. Christian Pulisic added the second from the penalty spot following a Gideon Mensah foul.
Florian Balogun received the third goal for the USA due to more defensive lapses in the 22nd minute. Ghana’s woes continued as they conceded a fourth goal in the 39th minute from an indirect free kick converted by Reyna for his brace.
