Black Stars defender, Alexander Djiku says Ghana must focus on qualifying for the World Cup later this year in Qatar after a shambolic AFCON performance.
The Strasbourg Alsace defender was a stand out performer for Ghana at the AFCON 2021 tournament in Cameroon.
Ghana were beaten by minnows on Tuesday evening and were eliminated from the competition at the group stage for the first time in 16 years.
The French-based defender scored his first goal ever for Ghana when the Black Stars loss 3-2 to the Islanders.
According to him, though Ghana’s exit from the competition is painful but they must focus on securing a place in the next FIFA World Cup tournament
“We must stay focused because qualifying for the World Cup must motivate us more than anything”, he Tweeted.
Words will certainly not be enough to erase the frustration.

Ghana are through to the last qualifying round for the next FIFA World Cup which will be staged in Qatar.
