Ghana’s stalwart defender, Alexander Djiku has begged Ghanaians to forgive the Black Stars following their poor AFCON 2021 campaign.
He described Ghana’s early exit from the tournament as frustrating, and disappointing as he urged the general public to pardon the players.
Djiku further stated about how sorry they feel for disappointing the Ghanaian people who supported them wholeheartedly.
The French-based defender explained to the people of Ghana that, words cannot be enough to erase their frustration.
He also advised Ghanaians to focus on the most important goal which is qualifying for the World Cup.
“Words will certainly not be enough to erase the frustration.”
We are disappointed and also sorry for our Ghanaian people to have failed at this stage of the competition”, he wrote on social media.
“We must stay focused because qualifying for the World Cup must motivate us more than anything”, he added.
Djiku scored his first goal for Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in the Black Stars defeat to Comoros.
