The President of Medeama SC, Moses Armah, has called for support for the club ahead of their participation in the CAF Champions League this season.
Medeama won the Premier League and overcame two teams in the qualifiers to gain a place in the Money Zone, securing a spot for Ghana in this year’s edition, the first since 2012 when Berekum Chelsea participated.
Their last qualification game saw them lose 2-1 to Horya, but a 3-1 first-leg win at the Cape Coast Stadium allowed them to advance to the group stage.
While addressing the press on Monday, the club’s president pleaded with everyone to come on board and support the club.
“Even though we qualified, we want to highlight that it didn’t come on a silver platter and we know a far more difficult task ahead as we will play against the giants in African club football in the group stage,” he said.
“As a result, we will need most and all forms of support to make our Champions League journey successful.”
In the dom estic league, Medeama currently occupy the 18th position after just one point from two games.
