Asante Kotoko misfiring striker Steven Makwala, is confident the goals will start flowing soon, having failed to convince suppoters of the club his striking potency.
The striker who was signed in replacement of Cameroonian international Franck Etouga Mbella, is yet to hit the regain his scoring form after blowing away some brilliant chances in the matches played so far for the defending Champions.
He was in action on Wednesday afternoon when Kotoko defeated newly promoted side Nsoatreman at the Baba Yara Stadium. Howeverm he missed two scoring opportunities.
Former Berekum Chelsea FC captain Stephen Amankonah converted a spot kick after he was fouled in the box inside 13 minutes to give Kotoko the lead.
Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala was presented with two great opportunities but the forward failed to take advantage as the first half after ended 1-0.
Just one minute into the second half of the match, youngster Isaac Oppong scored a beautiful goal on the 46 minute mark to make it 2-0. Philip Ofori scored a consolation goal for the away team but Kotoko held on to the lead to win their first game of the season.
