Nations FC head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso has expressed frustration after his side’s narrow defeat to Vision FC, insisting his team deserved at least a point from the Ghana Premier League encounter.
Vision FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Abrankese-based side on Saturday in a Week 16 clash at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex, a result that lifted the Tema-based outfit out of the relegation zone.
The decisive moment came just before the interval when teenage midfielder Setsofia Aqetey struck in spectacular fashion, opening his Vision FC account with a composed finish to hand the hosts a crucial win.
The victory ended Vision FC’s seven-match winless run and propelled them into 12th place on the league table with 18 points, just one behind Nations FC.
For Nations FC, however, the disappointment on the road continued, as Frimpong Manso’s side remain without an away win this season despite what the coach described as a dominant display.
“We didn’t deserve to lose this game,” Manso said after the match.
“We did a lot to at least secure a draw, if not all three points. We created chances but couldn’t convert them, and we were punished for our wastefulness in front of goal. Truthfully, we shouldn’t have lost this game.”
Despite the setback, Nations FC remain 10th in the league standings and will be eager to return to winning ways when they host Karela United in their next Ghana Premier League fixture.
