Chairman Kwaku Amponsah, also known as Chairman K-5, who previously served as the Asante Kotoko NCC chairman, has disclosed that the team sought the assistance of eight powerful spiritual individuals to enhance their performance and secure victories during the previous season.
He revealed that a significant amount of money, ranging from GHS15,000 to GHS20,000, was dedicated to engaging these spiritual practitioners in various operations.
According to Chairman Kwaku Amponsah, the involvement of these individuals played a crucial role in Asante Kotoko’s triumph as champions in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
“In the previous season, we exerted considerable effort to ensure success for Asante Kotoko Sporting Club and secure the league title. We allocated a substantial amount, approximately GHS15,000 to GHS20,000, towards operations with the support of eight powerful spiritual individuals,” Chairman Kwaku Amponsah stated in an interview with Ezra FM.
However, this season has witnessed a decline in Asante Kotoko’s performance compared to the previous year.
Consequently, the team from Kumasi appears unlikely to defend their league title by the end of the campaign and may even struggle to finish among the top four teams in the standings.
