Kwesi Appiah, the Technical Director of Asante Kotoko, has expressed his confidence in the potential of the club’s new signings as they prepare for the commencement of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
Following the dissolution of the team’s board and management, an Interim Management Committee (IMC) was established, with Kwesi Appiah taking on the role of Technical Director.
Under his leadership, the club has made strategic signings of both young talents and experienced players, and he is optimistic that they will make a significant impact.
“We strongly believe that the players we have assembled will perform so that we can get the win,” he told the club’s YouTube channel.
He emphasized the importance of fan support during this transitional period, saying, “The important thing is that with the players we have now, most of them are new so this is the time all the fans must come in their numbers to offer their support to the team,” he added.
Asante Kotoko is eager to bounce back from their fourth-place finish in the previous season, where they failed to retain the Ghana Premier League title.
They have placed their hopes in the expertise of their IMC, which includes coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, who led them to a Ghana Premier League triumph two seasons ago.
Kotoko’s first league fixture of the season will be held at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, where they will face Heart of Lions.
