Ghana forward Inaki Williams has revealed that the Black Stars are now focused on finishing top of Group L following their impressive goalless draw against England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars delivered another disciplined and resilient performance on Tuesday night, frustrating the Three Lions in a tightly contested encounter against one of Europe’s strongest sides.
Both teams entered the fixture on the back of opening victories, with Ghana edging Panama 1-0 and England securing a convincing 4-2 win over Croatia.
Speaking after the match, Williams expressed confidence in Ghana’s progress to the knockout stage but stressed that the team is aiming higher than just qualification.
“I think we’re already in the Round of 32. We want to fight for first place in the group,” the Athletic Bilbao forward told DAZN.
The result leaves Ghana and England level on four points at the top of Group L heading into the final round of fixtures.
England will face Panama in their final group match, while Ghana prepare for a decisive clash against Croatia, with both sides still battling for top spot and progression to the Round of 32.
