Head coach of Accra Great Olympics, Orlando Wellington has revealed that he and his boys were determined to beat Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League matchday 32 clash.

The Dade boys prevailed with a narrow win over the Porcupines at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday, boasting their survival chances.

Midfielder Raymond Grippman headed home the decisive goal in the 43rd minute to hand the Accra-based club the needed victory.

Speaking after the game with StarTimes, Wellington expressed his men were poised to secure maximum points over Kotoko.

“It’s about how determined we were. I know the kind of preparation we went through before this very match and this was a match which was on top of my heart so I am thanking God that we came out successfully to win 1-0 against a team like Kumasi Asante Kotoko”

“We don’t really rely so much in building from the back because we have players who can run and also have enough strength so we played to our strength,” he added.

The victory provides a glimmer of hope in Olympics’ relegation battle.

Although they remain in the relegation zone, they have an outstanding game that could prove pivotal.

They now face a must-win clash against city rivals Hearts of Oak, with both sides desperate to secure their spots in the league.
