Apoel Nicosia forward Euciodálcio Gomes has praised the quality of the Ovpry Coast team after the 2-0 defeat at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.
“Everyone knows the quality of the Ivorian team. They played well and took their chances,” says Dalcio.
Euciodalcio Gomes, 27, replaced Mama Balde in the 85th minute and lamented Guinea Bissau’s inability to take their chances. Guinea Bissau had some decent chances that they could’ve scored to change the dynamics of the game but were very wasteful.
“We were wasteful upfront and didn’t utilize any of the opportunities we got, ” Dalcio added after the game when speaking to the press.
Baciro Cande, the head coach of Guinea Bissau will be worried about his team’s lack of killer instincts upfront as they will prepare to face Equatorial Guinea in their second group game.
