Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito remains optimistic about his team’s title aspirations despite Sunday’s disappointing 1-0 defeat to Hohoe United in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors were undone by a brilliant free-kick from William Oduro in the Week 13 encounter at the Hohoe Sports Stadium, a result that extended their winless streak and added pressure on the technical team.
But despite the frustration, Zito insists the setback will not derail Kotoko’s ambitions.
“I haven’t lost hope of winning the league, and we will bounce back stronger,” he declared after the match.
Kotoko have struggled for momentum in recent weeks, recording just one win in their last seven league outings. The defeat to Hohoe United leaves them trailing the top of the table and in urgent need of consistency to remain in the title race.
Kotoko will look to respond when they face Dreams FC next weekend, a match that now carries added importance as the Porcupine Warriors seek to revive their campaign and reassure their supporters that their title hopes remain alive.
