Nigeria’s head coach Jose Peseiro was tactically fantastic during the 2023 AFCON. Many Nigerians called for his sacking after the back-to-back draws in the opening games of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Peseiro was able to turn things around to make Nigeria look unbeatable until losing 2-1 in the finals against Ivory Coast.
The Portuguese head coach’s profile is now rich as many teams are chasing him.
“I received a lot of offers after the African Cup final. I received an offer from the FAF but I will first rest and my agent will take care of it,” confirmed the 63-year-old Peseiro.
The Nigerian head coach has revealed that the Algerian Football Federation has contacted him for the vacant head coach role of the Fennec Foxes.
Jose Peseiro’s agent has also substantiated the FAF’s interest in the Portuguese manager.
“We have not yet given a response to the FAF. José Peseiro is very tired, he must first rest and then we will decide his future. We will study Algeria’s offer like all the other offers we have received,” added Peseiro’s agent.
Jose Peseiro has just 10 days left on his contract and he has the right to negotiate with anyone from 1st March 2024 if Nigeria do not renew it.
