“We won’t drop a single point in the remaining games” – Kotoko coach Abdulai Gazale

Abdulai Gazale, the interim head coach of Asante Kotoko, expressed his satisfaction with his team’s 3-1 victory over Kotoku Royals in the Ghana Premier League on Monday.

He highlighted the significance of this win as a motivating factor for the upcoming matches. Gazale reaffirmed Asante Kotoko’s determination to compete for the Ghana Premier League title.

He expressed confidence that the teams currently positioned above them in the league standings will encounter difficulties, creating an opportunity for Asante Kotoko to climb to the top spot.

“This particular match is a great source of motivation for us. It assures us that we won’t drop a single point in the remaining three matches. The victory against Kotoku gives us the confidence to secure three points in our next match against Karela,” Gazale stated.

He acknowledged the strength of Karela United but emphasized the team’s commitment to thorough preparation and implementing the right strategies to secure a win.

“I know Karela too is a good side, they are also troublesome but all the same, we have time to prepare again. “We want to bring our supporters back to the stadium, and we will ensure we have everything in place to secure the three points next week,” Gazale added.

Regarding their title chances, the coach expressed optimism, pointing out that with the remaining nine points up for grabs, Asante Kotoko could accumulate a total of 12 points. He hoped that the teams above them would drop points, enabling Asante Kotoko to close the gap and contend for the top position.

“For sure, because when you look at the table now, we are on the fourth place and I think if we are able to pick the remaining nine points in addition to what we picked today, it will be 12 points, hoping that at least any of those who are at the top will drop either one point or three points and we can still make it up,” the gaffer said.

Asante Kotoko is set to face Karela United in a matchweek 32 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium.
