Manchester City are heading to Wembley after a dominant 3-1 win over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, completing a 5-1 aggregate victory in the Carabao Cup semi-finals and setting up a final clash with Arsenal.

City’s attacking trio shone, with Omar Marmoush scoring twice and Tijjani Reijnders adding a third, while Antoine Semenyo played a key role in both build-up and assists, earning plaudits for his performance.

Needing to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit, City wasted no time. Within six minutes, Marmoush’s strike deflected off Dan Burn and found the back of the net, giving City an early advantage.

The Egyptian forward doubled the lead shortly after, rising to head home from Semenyo’s precise cross, marking his 12th goal of the season and his fifth against Newcastle at the Etihad.

City continued to dominate, with Semenyo again providing the assist as Reijnders slotted in City’s third goal before halftime, effectively sealing the tie. Pep Guardiola’s side moved with speed and precision, leaving Newcastle unable to cope with the intensity of their play.

The Magpies showed signs of life after the break. Substitute Anthony Elanga scored in the 61st minute, curling a neat finish past James Trafford. Despite a couple of missed opportunities to further reduce the deficit, Newcastle could not stage a comeback, while City comfortably controlled the rest of the match.

Speaking after the win, Antoine Semenyo expressed his excitement and focus ahead of the final in his X post.

Manchester City will now face Arsenal at Wembley on March 22, setting up a high-profile reunion between Pep Guardiola and former assistant Mikel Arteta, with the Carabao Cup title at stake.

Semeno’s influence, combined with Marmoush’s finishing and Reijnders’ composure, gives City fans confidence that silverware could soon return to the Etihad.
