Ghana’s captain Andre Ayew says the Black Stars team are not favourite to win the group in Qatar later this month at the FIFA Mundial.
The Ghana leader believes the team have got some good players in the squad ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar which starts on November 20.
Despite that, Ayew believes Ghana are minnows going into the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament considering their group made up of Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
“I believe in the players that we have, I believe in the squad we have, especially if everyone will be there and there are no injuries and we have a full squad..”
“I think we can create surprises, but it’s only on that grass that will speak. But we have to accept and respect the fact that we are not favourites,” Andre Ayew said in an interview.
Ayew will be making his third FIFA World Cup tournament appearance after playing at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, 2014 in Brazil and now set for the Qatar edition.
Ghana starts their campaign against European giant Portugal on November 24, Asian powerhouse South Korea on November 28 and former world cup winners Uruguay on December 2.
