Ghana head coach Otto Addo is confident his side can overcome Nigeria in the semi-finals of the 2025 Unity Cup.
The highly anticipated clash between the two West African rivals is set for Wednesday, May 28, at the Brentford Community Stadium in England. It will be the second semi-final match of the four-nation tournament.
Speaking ahead of the game, Coach Addo acknowledged the fierce nature of the rivalry but maintained that both teams are evenly matched going into the tie.
“I think everyone knows what it’s about. Surely, it’s a friendly game, but it’s not really a friendly game,” he said. “We want our people to be proud of us. It’s always about who has the better team, and sometimes small margins decide the result. To be honest, I think we are on the same level.”
Despite the tough challenge ahead, Addo stressed that his team is aiming for victory, even though he expects a closely contested encounter.
“We’re hoping that we will win, hoping that we’ll be successful. It’s going to be tough, but I’m sure we can do it,” he added.
Kickoff for the much-anticipated showdown is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Brentford Community Stadium.
