Former Ghana international, Augustine Arhinful has wondered the kind of system being deplored in the Black Stars by head coach, Chris Hughton.
The Black Stars have been on the chopping board following the team’s disastrous performance in two international friendly games against Mexico and the United States of America.
Ghana registered just a single shot on target after losing 2-0 and 4-0 to Mexico and the United Sates of America respectively on Sunday, October 15 and Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
Reacting to this in an interview with Sunyani-based Sompa FM, Augustine Arhin wondered the kind of system the team is playing as he wasn’t impressed with the overall output of the Black Stars
“At the end of the day our system of play is also very important. What system are we even playing these days in the Black Stars? There is a difference between system and formation which we normally call format.”
“Formation is a static format which doesn’t move and the system is seen the moment the referee will blow his whistle to start the game.”
*From the formation we are able to derived the system you want to play and that is something we should pay attention to. We played two defensive midfielders against Central Africa Republic in Kumasi and I was shocked,”Augustine Arhinful added.
