Bibiani Goldstars’ forward, Alex Aso, attributes his team’s surprising victory over Hearts of Oak to relentless hard work and determination.
The miners shocked the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium, clinching their first away win of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
Mawuli Wayo capitalized on a goalkeeper error in the 79th minute to secure the crucial goal, benefiting from a rebound off an opponent’s clearance.
Reflecting on the game, Aso, who earned the man of the match accolade, emphasized the significance of hard work and perseverance in achieving the triumph.
“It wasn’t an easy game because we played against a well-organized team. Hearts of Oak is a good side and one of the best teams in the league,” Aso acknowledged.
“This is our first away win, and you can see we put in a lot of work and effort from the first minute to the last minute. Even when we were one man down, we kept fighting until the last minute, and with hard work and determination, we got the result we wanted,” he added.
Bibiani Goldstars currently sit in eleventh place on the Ghana Premier League standings after 24 matches, amassing a total of 32 points.
