It was all smiles on the faces of the Ghanaian quartet of Fuseini, Botsio, Azamati and Joe Paul as they qualified for the Paris Olympics.

Ghana’s quartet ran 38.29s and secured a Paris 2024 Olympic Games slot after topping Heat 2.

Ibrahim Fuseini ran 10.69s, Isaac Botsio – 9.13s, Benjamin Azamati – 9.35s and Joseph Paul Amoah – 9.12s.

Ghana put aside their Saturday night disappointment by winning the Heat 2 early on Monday morning ahead of their rivals Nigeria. Dominican Republic, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey and the Netherlands finished behind the West African duo.

In good news for Africa, (Nigeria men and women), Liberia, Ivory Coast (women) and Ghana all secured a place in the 2024 Paris Olympics Games in the 4x100m relay.

South Africa and Botswana ( both men) secured a place in the 4X400 Metres Relay in the Paris 2024. South Africa also qualified for the 400×100 Meters Relay (men).
