World Cup 2026 Preview: Brazil vs Haiti – Team News, Predicted Lineups, Kick-off Time and Prediction

Brazil will look to secure their first victory of the 2026 FIFA World Cup when they face Haiti at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Friday evening in a crucial Group C encounter.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side sit third in the group with one point, level with second-placed Morocco, while Haiti remain bottom after a narrow opening-day defeat to Scotland.

Match Preview

Brazil were held to a frustrating draw by Morocco in their opening fixture, but there were still flashes of quality—most notably a brilliant equaliser from Vinícius Júnior that salvaged a point for the five-time champions.

Despite that result, expectations remain high around Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who are still considered among the leading contenders for the 2026 World Cup title.

However, improvement will be required if Brazil are to justify that status. They have not lifted the World Cup since 2002 and have failed to progress beyond the quarter-finals since 2014, adding pressure to deliver a convincing performance in Philadelphia.

A win here would ease tension ahead of their final Group C clash against Scotland, but anything less would increase the stakes significantly going into matchday three.

Historically, Brazil have dominated this fixture, winning all three previous meetings, including a 7-1 thrashing at the 2016 Copa America. In total, they have scored freely against Haiti, underlining the gulf in pedigree between the two nations.

Haiti, meanwhile, enter the match with little to lose but plenty of motivation after showing encouraging signs in their opening defeat to Scotland.

Despite losing 1-0, the Grenadiers produced a spirited display and created several promising moments before John McGinn’s first-half strike ultimately proved decisive.

Under coach Sebastien Migne, Haiti are aiming to compete bravely in their first World Cup appearance since 1974, when they lost all three group matches.

A defeat here combined with a Morocco win over Scotland would eliminate them from the tournament, meaning Friday’s clash already carries survival stakes.

Still, their performance against Scotland will give them belief that they can at least trouble Brazil if they remain disciplined and efficient in transition.

Team News

Brazil could make several changes after their opening draw, with Neymar still a doubt due to fitness concerns. Danilo, Alex Sandro, Fabinho, and Matheus Cunha are all pushing for recalls as Ancelotti looks to refresh his side.

However, Vinícius Júnior and Raphinha are expected to keep their places in attack, while Gabriel Magalhães is set to continue in defence.

For Haiti, Wilson Isidor is expected to lead the line once again after scoring twice in recent appearances, while experienced goalkeeper Johny Placide is set to earn another international cap. Josué Casimir could also come into the starting XI.

Predicted Lineups

Brazil: Alisson; Danilo, Marquinhos, Gabriel, Sandro; Fabinho, Guimarães; Henrique, Raphinha, Vinícius; Cunha

Haiti: Placide; Arcus, Delcroix, Ade, Experience; Bellegarde, Jean; Deedson, Casimir, Providence; Isidor

Prediction

Haiti showed resilience against Scotland, but Brazil’s attacking quality and depth should ultimately prove too strong over 90 minutes.

Prediction: Brazil 4-0 Haiti
