Ipswich Town manager Gary O’Neil believes Abdul Fatawu’s recent World Cup experience with Ghana will benefit the club as preparations continue for the new Premier League season.
The Black Stars winger featured in all four of Ghana’s matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and arrives at Ipswich with valuable international experience.
O’Neil said the player is eager to begin work immediately after representing his country on the biggest stage in world football.
The Ipswich manager stated, “Having represented his country at the World Cup this summer, I know he is now looking forward to getting to work ahead of the Premier League season.”
Fatawu has earned 32 caps for Ghana, scored three goals for the Black Stars and previously featured at both the 2022 and 2026 FIFA World Cups. His move to Ipswich Town marks another significant step in a career that has taken him from Tamale to the UEFA Champions League and now back to the Premier League.
