The Black Stars of Ghana will battle their Nigerian counterparts for a slot at the world cup in Qatar. It is going to be an intriguing encounter. Both sides had an abysmal outing at the just ended African Cup in Cameroon. Nigeria seems the better side on paper but the Black Stars can spring a surprise. We have some very good players who can make the difference for us if they are called upon.

Tariq Lamptey has been a revelation since he left Chelsea. He has been a phenom at the right hand side of the Brighton defence. He is tactically disciplined. His attacking forays into the opposition half is superb. Defensively, he is astute as well. Mohammed Salisu is another player that can help us. He has been a stalwart in defence for Southampton in the English Premier League. He is among the top 3 defenders in the premier league currently.

Daniel Kofi Kyere has been a revelation since he joined the black stars. He was our best player in Cameroon. He has been on fire for his club St Pauli in the German bundesliga 2. His club is on course to be promoted to the Bundesliga next season. Mohammed Kudus has always been scintillating in a Black Stars shirt. Injuries have been a source of worry to him this season. But he is back. If he can be fit, he can make a difference for us.

Thomas Partey is rejuvenated. He is playing his best football in an Arsenal shirt currently. He hasn’t been able to replicate his club form for the national team but I hope things will change this time. On a very good day, he is unstoppable. I believe we have the materials available. If Otto Addo can assemble a good side, we can overcome Nigeria.
