Yussif Basigi is officially stepping down as head coach of Hasaacas Ladies after a remarkable 21-year tenure to take on a new challenge with Tanzania’s Simba Queens.
Basigi, who was instrumental in the formation of Hasaacas Ladies in 2003, rose through the ranks of the technical team to become head coach, where he guided the team to unprecedented success.
Under his leadership, Hasaacas Ladies won four Ghana Women’s Premier League titles and made history by winning the 2021 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B Qualifiers.
The team also reached the final of the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021—a significant achievement for women’s football in Ghana.
His departure marks the end of an era at Hasaacas Ladies, where he has been a key figure in shaping the team into one of the strongest sides in African women’s football. Basigi now looks forward to bringing his vast experience to Simba Queens, where expectations are high for him to replicate his success in Tanzanian women’s football.
