Thanks to goals from Toko Ekambi and Vincent Aboubakar, the Indomitable Lions won 2-1 against Comoros to set up a quarter-final tie against Gambia who eliminated Guinea earlier on Monday.
Cameroon doubted
Deprived of all their goalkeepers, it was defender left back Chaker Alhadhur who was lined up in the Comorian goal and he did made some fine saves but could not stop the host from scoring twice in the 29th and 70th minutes.
Youssouf M’Changama however managed to reduce the score with a sumptuous free kick in the 82nd minute and he was voted the official man of the match.
Comoros were also without head coach Amir Abdou and about seven players who tested negative for Covid-19 on Saturday.
