Despite the desire and fine offensive intentions Africa Cup of Nations debutantes Comoros lost to Panthers of Gabon by 1-0 on Monday, January 10, in their first Group C match of CAN-2021.
Morocco defeated Ghana by the same score line in the earlier Group C match played in Yaounde.
Gabon who were without star attraction and skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, absent, due to Covid-19 won the game with a solitary first half strike from Aaron Boupendza in the 16th minute on the service of Ameka Autchanga.
This means Morocco and Gabon take go on three points each in Group C whilst Ghana and Comoros are without a point after the first round of group play.
Ghana play against Gabon on January 14th whilst Morocco take on Comoros on the same day.
