Ghana’s Black Stars have set off for Morocco ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar on Monday, March 24, 2025.
The team departed Accra on Saturday morning for the five-hour flight, just a day after their emphatic 5-0 victory over Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium. The quick turnaround has raised concerns about player fatigue, especially since Madagascar played a day earlier and have already settled in Morocco.
Despite the tight schedule, Ghana will aim to build on their dominant performance against Chad and strengthen their position at the top of Group I. The Black Stars wasted no time in their previous fixture, with Antoine Semenyo opening the scoring within 90 seconds before goals from Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, and Ernest Nuamah secured a comprehensive win.
Monday’s clash against Madagascar presents a tougher challenge, considering the short recovery period and travel demands. However, with confidence high and momentum on their side, Otto Addo’s squad will be eager to secure another crucial victory.
A win would further solidify Ghana’s lead in the group and move them one step closer to securing qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
