The CAF World Cup Qualifiers’ second round continues as Djibouti seeks their first win against Guinea-Bissau on Monday evening. Due to stadium constraints, the match will be held at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.

Djibouti, the fourth-lowest-ranked African nation, faced a formidable Egyptian side in their first match, suffering a 6-0 defeat. Mohamed Salah’s stellar performance highlighted Djibouti’s recent struggles, enduring three consecutive competitive defeats and lacking a regulation-time victory since December 2019.

In contrast, Guinea-Bissau has showcased improvement, securing a 1-1 draw against higher-ranked Burkina Faso in their World Cup qualification opener. With three unbeaten competitive matches, including AFCON qualification wins, Guinea-Bissau aims to maintain pressure on group favorites Egypt.

Team News:

Djibouti is expected to maintain a similar lineup, featuring Yabe Siad and Moussa Araita in central defense. Abdi Idleh Hamza will play as the advanced midfielder, while Mohamed Fouad Mohamed eyes a starting spot.

Guinea-Bissau’s Balde, scoring last week, is likely to retain his position alongside Janio Bikel and Alfa Semedo in the midfield. Sori Mane will provide defensive cover, and potential starters include Mauro Rodrigues and Moreto Cassama based on their impressive cameos.
