GARIBA RAUBIL : Jaw-dropping saves, Ofori was huge vs Hearts, he could be key for Cities this season

There is no perfect way to make your debut for your new club with an excellent performance than keeping a clean sheet, pulling terrific saves and voted Man of The Match like Ofori Antwi did on Sunday for Legon Cities against champions Hearts of Oak.

The former Medeama No.1 was the reason Hearts of Oak had a zero written against their name at full time. In all fairness, this was a game the Phobians should have won hands down. They dominated the game, created all the best chances but for the reliable Ofori, Hearts of Oak could have finished the game with a 4-1 success.

The Cities midfielders and defenders were poor on the afternoon but each time Hearts of Oak penetrated them, Ofori was there to make amends with series of jaw-dropping saves. What a show, boy.

Sometimes a 0-0 match is more interesting watching and this game was one those games.

Of course some people would question the quality of the finishing of the Hearts of Oak players but for me this was more about the quality of the keeper. He left Medeama acrimoniously, he is determined to prove a point and he did it. He was a colossus in goal.

At least the former Ghana U20 custodian made four major outstanding saves to keep the champions scoreless.

His string of outstanding saves started in the 32nd minute when he kept out a header from striker Isaac Mensah.

In the 51st minute he pulled a great save from a fierce effort of Fatawu Mohammed , with his hands wrapped around his head he could not believe Ofori denied his fine strike.

Again in the 55th minute it was the turn of Kofi Kordzi to try to beat the outstanding Ofori Antwi but he also failed as the latter save his effort from a tight angle.

Mensah tested the Cities goalkeeper once again at the hour mark and once again it was Ofori Antwi who succeeded in keeping out the shot.

Certainly this will go down as one of the best performances from a goalkeeper this season.
