Equatorial Guinea is the nation with the second highest number of foreign born players after Comoros in the impending 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

Out of the 28-man squad submitted by coach Juan Micha for the tournament which kicks off in January, eighteen of the players were born in Spain with only ten of them being born in the Central African country of which three of them even grew up in Spain.

Also, out of the 18 who were born in Spain,  fourteen of them have one parent being a Spanish with only four of them being full blooded Equatorial Guineans whereas fourteen also play in the European country.

The Nzalang will be hoping to go all out in Cameroon as they seek to improve upon the semi finals berth they secured in 2015 when they hosted the tournament.

They will be led by skipper Emilio Nsue Lopez who is a former Spanish youth international as they face Algeria, Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone in Group E of the tournament.
