Ghanaian international Richard Ofori could play his first game for Orlando Pirates in five months when they welcome Eswatini outfit Royal Leopards on Sunday to the Mbombela Stadium.
Ofori has been out of action for several months due to an injury he sustained whiles playing for the Black Stars against South Africa in a world cup qualifier but he has now fully recovered and the club has revealed he may feature this weekend.
“With close to a 100% of the squad available for selection, Pirates’ coaching duo of Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids have opted for continuity, making minimal changes to the starting personnel since the resumption of competitive football. The same looks set to continue on Sunday, with the club still awaiting further strengthening in the midfield and goalkeeping departments from Vincent Pule and Richard Ofori, who are both edging closer to being available for selection after spending the last few months on the long-term injury list,” An official statement on the Pirates website indicated.
Pirates are on top of the CAF Confederations Cup Group B with three points from two games.
