“The passion for the Ghana Premier League is going down because of poor officiating” – Hearts star Samuel Inkoom

Samuel Inkoom, the right-back of Hearts of Oak, has expressed his disappointment with the team’s painful 3-2 defeat to FC Samartex.

The ex-Basel defender finds it difficult to accept the outcome and believes that some of the referee’s decisions affected his team’s performance, which could have led to a different result.

After conceding an early goal, the Accra giants fought back strongly and managed to level the score before taking the lead through goals from Gideon Asante and Linda Mtange in the 42nd and 63rd minutes, respectively.

Having recently defeated King Faisal in Accra, Hearts of Oak appeared to be on track to secure another victory and keep their title hopes alive.

However, the hosts equalized in the 80th minute through Emmanuel Keyekeh and sealed the win with a last-gasp goal from Seidu Yusif.

Inkoom criticized the referee’s decisions, stating that they were “very bad” and “uncalled for,” and that they detracted from the beauty of the game. He expressed his disappointment and called for improvements in officiating to help rekindle Ghana’s passion for football.

“I have to say, I am very very disappointed about the referees. “Some of the decision are very bad. We have to make the game beautiful. We want football and Ghana is a football nation. The passion is going down because some of the decisions are not good. To be honest they are uncalled for,” Inkoom said as quoted by classfmonline.com.

With four games left in the season, Hearts of Oak are in fifth place on the league table with 45 points. They will aim to recover from their defeat when they face Medeama SC at home in Accra in week 31.
