Black Stars defender Tariq Lamptey is confident of the team ending their trophy drought soon if things are put in the right place.
According to him, despite the difficulty of having g to face top-class players, there is always an opportunity to win and the Black Stars are prepared for it.
Ghana are yet to any major title after their Africa Cup of Nations triumph over Libya in 1982 and have since lost three finals that they have played.
In an interview with Joy Sports, the 22-year-old suggested how the team could over that hurdle and bring joy to the faces of Ghanaians.
“Football is a very difficult game. It’s hard [because] you are playing against top world-class players at the highest level. But we believe in ourselves. In football, you don’t go into any game thinking you will lose,” he said.
We always have the feeling that you are going to win. You always have the feeling that if you work hard, prepare right, then you get the right result.
So we don’t really worry about the external factors. If we concentrate and do what is right for us, we are confident [we will end the drought].
Tariq will miss this month’s AFCON qualify against Madagascar due to an injury he suffered in the latter part of the season.
