Benjamin Tetteh: Ghana striker offers insight into Liam Rosenior’s Hull City regime amid club’s exit

Ghanaian striker Benjamin Tetteh says Liam Rosenior’s demands at Hull City are crystal clear for both the current players and those who are joining the club this summer.

Rosenior may appear quite placid on the surface when he meets supporters or conducts his regular briefings with the media, but Tetteh says the dressing room at City are under no illusions about what he expects, and how he demands it.

And if Rosenior does not get what he wants from his players day-to-day, then they’ll find themselves out of the team and their place is given to somebody who will give him what he demands.

Tetteh could be on the verge of leaving the club he joined last summer with City in talks with a prospective buyer in Europe. But speaking prior to that bid coming in, Tetteh made it clear Rosenior takes no prisoners.

“There’s not a lot to say about him (Rosenior),” Tetteh said. “He’s someone who knows what he wants. Either you give one hundred percent or you’re out of his team.

“He demands a lot from us as players. From a coaching side of things, he knows what he’s doing and you either follow what he’s doing or you go out of his team.

“He motivates us, he gives us trust and he makes you understand that he trusts you, that’s why he puts you there to play and that’s why you’re still with the team.”

Tetteh and Rosenior formed a strong bond last season when the big striker was sidelined through injury. The pair embraced when the 26-year-old netted his first Tigers goal in the win over West Brom, only to break down the following weekend. He says Rosenior’s support during that time was crucial.

“In my opinion, he’s a really good coach,” said Tetteh. “I’ve been with him a few times when I was injured, he always tried to be there, tried to help me, tried to encourage me with my family and with everything. I think he’s a good coach and he’s a good human as well.”
