‘I have no plans to coach in the Ghana Premier League next season’ – Samuel Boadu quashes Hearts of Oak return reports

Former Hearts of Oak coach, Samuel Boadu, has expressed uncertainty about returning to the dugout to lead a club in the upcoming Ghana Premier League campaign.

Since parting ways with Hearts of Oak in September 2022 due to disappointing results, Boadu has remained without a club. Although there were reports of him joining a lower-tier club, Cornerstone, for the new season, Boadu promptly denied the rumors and urged the public to dismiss them.

In an interview with Footballghana.com, the former Ghana Premier League winner revealed that he currently has no plans to take charge of a club in the upcoming season. As a national team coach, Boadu is waiting for potential opportunities, but he mentioned that his future in club management is uncertain, depending on certain factors.

“Not really, I have not plan for that. I’m still a national team coach, I don’t know what will happen but then, I’m waiting for one or two things”

During his tenure with Hearts of Oak, Boadu achieved remarkable success, securing the Premier League title, the MTN FA Cup twice, the President Cup, and the Ghana Super Cup. However, a disappointing start to the previous season led to the termination of his contract with the club.

After departing from Hearts of Oak, Boadu took on the role of head coach for the Black Satellites. Under his guidance, the team participated in the WAFU Zone B Boys Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, but unfortunately, they were eliminated during the group stage of the competition.
