Phil Ofosu-Ayeh has expressed his unwavering commitment to represent the Ghanaian national team, the Black Stars, despite not receiving a call-up for the past seven years.

The Halmstads BK right-back has attracted interest from Sweden to switch his allegiance, but he remains devoted to wearing the Ghanaian jersey due to his love for the country and his father’s heritage.

Ofosu-Ayeh fondly recalled his opportunity to play for the Black Stars in the past and expressed his desire to continue doing so in the future.

“I really love Ghana and always would want to play for the Black Stars. Ghana is my father’s homeland and my spirit is with the Black Stars,” he said to the media, as quoted by Citi Sports.

“I enjoyed playing for the Black Stars in the Canada friendly but I got injured and was ruled out of Ghana’s AFCON qualifiers,” he added

Ofosu-Ayeh, who was born to a German mother and a Ghanaian father, made his full international debut for Ghana in a friendly against Canada played in Washington, D.C. on 13 October 2015.
