Gregory Kwesi Wüthrich’s exceptional performance against Austria Lustenau has earned him a spot in Sofascore’s Austrian Bundesliga team of the week.

The defender, originally from Switzerland but with Ghanaian roots, secured the sole goal for Sturm Graz during the match.

Prior to the game, the historical head-to-head record indicated that Austria Lustenau had not secured any victories, while Sturm Graz had clinched three wins, with no draws between them.

Starting the game at the Planet Pure Stadion, Gregory Kwesi Wüthrich remained on the field for the entirety of the 90 minutes.

Sturm Graz initiated the match on a strong note, obtaining their first opportunity in the 4th minute. Alexander Prass came close to scoring from a challenging angle. Teixeira also made an attempt against Austria Lustenau, but his effort was resolutely thwarted in the sixth minute.

Szymon Wlodarczyk was directed into the penalty area in the 22nd minute, narrowly missing contact with the ball. Although the Polish striker managed to score what seemed to be the opening goal seven minutes later, it was invalidated due to a handball incident in the lead-up to the attack.

A few moments later, Gregory Wuthrich seized the lead, steering the ball over the line following a corner kick in the 33rd minute.

Sturm Graz sustained a clean sheet for the fourth consecutive Bundesliga match. Their forthcoming fixture is against FC Blau-Weiss Linz on Saturday.

Post-game analysis from Sofascore rated Wüthrich at 8.4. His contributions included three clearances, one blocked shot, one interception, three successful tackles, four accurate long passes, and one shot on target.

The following is the team of the week:
