Former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has taken on the role of Sudan’s national team coach, earning a reported monthly salary of $50,000 for the position.

Appiah has signed a three-year contract and will also assume the role of technical director for the Sudanese national team.

Despite his new responsibilities, Appiah will continue to fulfill his duties as the technical director of Asante Kotoko. His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the life patron of the club, has granted him permission to serve as the head coach of Sudan’s national team while maintaining his role at Kotoko.

In addition to his role as head coach, Appiah is set to participate in the Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council elections in the upcoming month, representing Asante Kotoko as its technical director.

This marks the second time that Kwesi Appiah has worked in Sudan, as he previously served as the head coach of the Sudanese top-flight club Al Khartoum. During his tenure, he guided the team to a fourth-place finish in the league and secured qualification for the Confederation Cup.
