Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton has charged his team to use their defeat to Mexico as a motivation in their next game against United States of America.
The Black Stars are currently in the USA for two international friendly games and they lost 2-0 in their opening game to Mexico.
The team was heavily criticized by Ghanaians after failing to register a single shot on target in the entire duration of the game against the Mexicans.
Reacting to the defeat, Chris Hughton who was disappointed hoped for a better game from his team against USA.
“It is exactly the same message for the players. What we don’t want is to leave this international camp with two poor results.”
“The result of that is always you are looking for reaction from the team in the second game [USA].”
“If you are able to get the right reaction, which I am quite sure that we will get from the team, then it gives you a better possibility of putting in a performance that can get something out of the game in the second game [USA]”, he said after the game.
Ghana will face USA in the next round of matches on Tuesday, October 17, at the Geodis Park in Nashville.
Meanwhile, the USA Soccer National team also lost 2-1 to Germany on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
