Hearts of Oak coach, Martin Koopman, expressed his belief that his team deserved more than the single point they earned from their goalless draw with Samartex on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Despite having the majority of possession, The Phobians faced challenges breaking through Samartex’s resolute defense. They managed to create several chances and came close to scoring in the 67th minute, but Samartex’s goalkeeper, Kofi Baah, made a remarkable save to deny Hamzah Issah.
Koopman feels that, based on their performance, his team should have secured all three points.
He shared his thoughts with StarTimes: “I think we deserved to win with three points. If you see how many times we came close to the box, we had many opportunities. The boys gave everything on the field.”
Currently, Hearts of Oak holds the 12th position in the league standings and is set to face Bibiani Gold Stars in their upcoming game.
