Two goals from Lionel Messi and Marcos Rojo ensured Argentina shockingly beat Nigeria 2-1 to qualify to the knock-out stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Lionel Messi scored his first goal of the FIFA World Cup 2018 to give Argentina a deserved 1-0 half-time lead over Nigeria in their final Group D match on Tuesday.

The two-time winners were held to a 1-1 draw by Iceland in their first game and things did not improve for them in the tournament as they slumped to a 3-0 loss to Croatia. On the other hand, Nigeria won their last game 2-0 against Iceland and a win against Argentina will make them strong contenders to reach the Round of 16.

Argentina face France in the last 16 after finishing second in the group, while Croatia take on Group C runners-up Denmark. Nigeria and Iceland are out after finishing third and fourth, respectively.
