Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has revealed that Atletico Madrid players are happy that Antonio Griezmann signed a new deal to remain at the club.
Before playing a huge role in France’s 2018 World Cup triumph where he scored four goals, Griezmann was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.
But the France international brought speculations to an end by signing a new contract with Diego Simeone’s side that tied him to Spanish capital outfit until June 2023.
And Partey who has been actively involved in Atletico’s pre-season training is anticipating the return of the 26-year-old who scored 29 goals in 49 matches last season.
“We are very happy that Griezmann is still with us,” Partey is quoted as saying by Marca
“He is the best player we have and we are all looking forward to playing with him again.”
