Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, beams with joy as Thomas Partey makes his long-awaited comeback after a four-month injury hiatus.

The Ghanaian midfielder marked his return in Arsenal’s dominant 6-0 victory against Sheffield United, injecting vitality into the team’s performance with his second-half appearance at Bramall Lane.

Despite Partey’s pivotal role in the squad, Arteta stresses the importance of earning one’s place in the starting lineup, highlighting the need for gradual reintroduction following the prolonged absence.

“Today, obviously, Thomas is available to play a certain number of minutes. He needs to build that, because it was his first match in four months, which is a significant period. And then, like everybody, you need to have the right to earn the minutes,” Arteta remarked post-match.

Partey’s absence also meant missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, yet his return provides a timely boost to Arsenal’s title aspirations as the league approaches its decisive stages.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s formidable form since the new year has seen them maintain an unbeaten streak throughout 2024, further fueling their Premier League title ambitions.
