Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has voiced his support for Otto Addo’s tenure as the head coach of the Black Stars, urging Ghanaians to rally behind him for success.

Otto Addo, who was reappointed as the national team’s coach following Ghana’s disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, is tasked with revitalizing the team’s fortunes after their early exit from the tournament under former coach Chris Hughton.

Nyantakyi, speaking to 3Sports, expressed confidence in Addo’s ability to lead the team, citing his experience as a former Black Stars player and his previous roles within the team’s setup.

“I believe that Otto Addo can manage the team provided he gets the right support. He has been a player of the Black Stars before,” Nyantakyi remarked.

“He has come back, and I believe if we rally behind him and provide the support he desires, he can do well,” he added.

Despite facing challenges in his early tenure, including two friendly matches with mixed results against Nigeria and Uganda in March 2024, Otto Addo now looks ahead to the daunting task of leading the Black Stars in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali in June.
