Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams, sidelined due to injury, has weighed in on the Black Stars’ crucial 2-1 triumph against Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The victory, secured on Thursday, revitalized Ghana’s hopes of clinching a spot in the upcoming World Cup, slated to be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Despite his absence from the pitch, Williams, who plies his trade for Athletic Bilbao, expressed his elation following the team’s pivotal win. Ghana’s victory, fueled by goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew, marked a significant milestone, notably as their first competitive away triumph in two years.

Taking to social media, Williams shared his thoughts on the momentous victory, succinctly stating, “Y3nkooooo!” – a jubilant expression reflecting his pride in the team’s achievement.

Looking ahead, Ghana gears up to face the Central African Republic in the next round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Monday, June 10, 2026.

With momentum on their side, the Black Stars are poised to continue their quest for World Cup qualification, buoyed by the determination to secure their place on football’s grandest stage.
