Following their back-to-back wins in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the Black Stars of Ghana have climbed up the FIFA rankings.
The latest rankings, released on Thursday, show Ghana moving up to 64th position, a rise of four places after their impressive performance in the qualifiers.
Despite this progress, the four-time African champions remain outside the top ten in Africa, currently sitting in 12th position on the continent.
The Black Stars achieved a crucial away victory over Mali in Bamako last Thursday and followed it up with a win against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. These consecutive victories have ended their seven-game winless streak this year.
The latest rankings will be used for the draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Johannesburg next month.
Meanwhile, Morocco continues to lead the rankings in Africa, followed by Senegal, with Egypt, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria completing the top five on the continent. Globally, Argentina holds the top spot, followed by France and Belgium.
