Rwandan Premier League side Armee Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club (APR FC) has secured the services of former Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey on a two-year deal.
Lamptey joined APR FC after his contract with Asante Kotoko expired, ending a successful three-year stint with the Porcupine Warriors.
In the just-ended season, he made 17 league appearances and provided five assists, showcasing his importance to the team.
Despite battling injuries and setbacks last season, the 27-year-old was an integral part of Kotoko’s Ghana Premier League title win in 2021, their first in almost a decade.
A product of WAFA, Lamptey also represented Ghana at the international level, making the Black Stars’ final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cote D’Ivoire earlier this year.
